Schedule of events

Wilmot's 2026 Canada Day celebration will take place on Wednesday, July 1 at Norm Hill Park (251 Jacob St., New Hamburg). Admission and parking are free!

Note: Event schedule is subject to change.

Start the day in a meaningful way by participating in an Indigenous sunrise ceremony, presented in partnership with the Wilmot Indigenous Relations Interfaith Working Group and Crow Shield Lodge.

Join us as we kick off the event.

  • New Hamburg Legion colour guard
  • Performance of "O Canada" by The Community Players and the New Hamburg Concert Band
  • Cake cutting hosted by members of Wilmot Township Council
  • Bike Parade for Children, Youth and Families. Please register here
    • Please join us to the left of the Grandstands behind the Township Tent at 12:45pm prior to the opening ceremonies. All are welcome!

Enjoy balloon twisters and shop the Jr. Optimist Club's novelty merchandise sale before the fireworks begin.

The celebration will close with a dazzling fireworks display at dusk, weather permitting.

Volunteers

Volunteers are an integral part of the Wilmot Canada Day event. Make new connections, contribute to your community and have fun!

Sponsorship 

Each year, we offer a variety of sponsorship opportunities. New this year, sponsors can choose from four corporate sponsorship levels, in addition to a limited number of custom, first-come options. Explore our sponsorship options below. 

We are no longer accepting sponsorships for the 2026 event. Please check back next year for 2027 sponsorship opportunities.

  • Organization logo shown individually on water trailer digital display
  • High-visibility main stage banner display for the full event, exclusive for four sponsors

  • All items in the Silver Package
  • Your organization recognized verbally from main stage throughout the event
  • Logo included on the Wilmot Canada Day event webpage 

  • All items in the Bronze Package
  • Custom post shared on the Township of Wilmot's social media recognizing your organization's contribution (must provide logo)

  • Name of organization included in a thank-you ad in local paper following the event
  • Organization name included on signage at the event indicating the names of all sponsors in each tier
