For more information and to apply please contact the Supervisor of Recreation Programming by May 31, 2026. Additional weeks coverages may be awarded after the closing date, based on availability.
Township of Wilmot Summer Day Camps are supported by the Kids to Camp Grant Award held at Waterloo Region Community Foundation.
Additional information
To support your child's enjoyment and safety at camp, as well as the enjoyment and safety of the other campers, it is important to ensure your child is "camp ready."
To be considered "camp ready", your child should be able to:
- Take instruction and direction from staff
- Interact comfortably in a group environment
- Participate safely in the camp and all of its activities
- Use the washroom on their own
For programs with specialty skill requirements, campers must be able to demonstrate the basic skill (e.g. swimming).
Please remember that campers must be 5 years of age by the end of the calendar year to register for camps.
Individuals who are attending a program and not demonstrating that they are "camp ready" may be withdrawn from the camp at the sole discretion of the Supervisor of Recreation Programming.
Campers can be dropped off anytime between the hours of 8 and 9 am, and picked up between 4 and 5 pm. It is a requirement that campers are signed in and out.
All campers must be dropped off and picked up by people authorized by their primary contact. In an effort to ensure the safety of your child, you or whoever is picking up the child may be asked to show a picture I.D. Please make sure to inform the individual picking up your child of this policy to avoid any confusion or frustration at the time of pick-up.
In the event of an emergency and there is an additional person doing a pick-up, written notice to the Supervisor of Recreation Programming is required.
Please note that we charge a late fee of $5 per camper for every 15 minutes past the required pick up time. Late fees must be paid at Customer Service the day of the late pick up (e.g. if you are 15 minutes late for 2 campers, you will be required to pay $10).
- If fewer than 9 children are enrolling in a camp session, a full refund will be given.
- Refunds will be issued up until 5 days before camp is scheduled to start.
- Refunds will not be issued after camp begins.
- There is a 20% administration fee on all refund requests up to a maximum of $42.
- The administration fee will be waived if you choose to leave the refund on your account as a credit. Unused credits will expire after three years.
- Refunds are issued by cheque from the Township of Wilmot's Finance Department, and will be mailed to participants within 4 to 6 weeks.
Our goal is to keep every child safe and to ensure that they have an enjoyable camp experience. While at camp, it is expected that campers will act in an appropriate manner at all times.
To encourage positive behaviour, we have developed four camp rules that must be followed:
- Hands and feet must be kept to yourself at all times.
- Speak to others the way you would want them to speak to you.
- Do not touch things that do not belong to you.
- Stay in the activity area at all times. Leaders must be notified if you are leaving and must accompany you.
Zero Tolerance Policy
There will be no hitting, kicking, shoving, spitting, stealing, or damage of another person or their property while at camp. If this occurs, parents will be contacted immediately and the child will not be welcomed back at camp after their first incident at the parents' expense. No refunds will be issued.
The Township of Wilmot aims to integrate all campers into our camp programs. To help us best support your camper’s experience at camp, we ask that any additional needs be disclosed during registration. Feel free to connect with the Supervisor of Recreation Programming directly to have a conversation about any concerns.
A summer camp staff member will reach out after registration to discuss how we can best integrate your camper into our group programming.
Please note that we are unable to provide one to one support for campers with additional needs. However, we welcome volunteers or support workers provided by the family in this capacity. Volunteers or support workers must be 16 years or older and complete additional forms provided by the Supervisor of Recreation Programming
Youth Volunteer Leadership Program
Youth volunteers play an important role in ensuring the success of our day camps. Volunteers support camp leaders with playing games, helping with crafts and instructing activities during camp. They are given the opportunity to create an activity plan and lead one activity during the week with the assistance of the camp leaders. This is a great way for high school students to get their mandatory community service hours completed during one week of camp.
Note: Youth volunteers are required to purchase a camp t-shirt and participate in SafeGuard training at their own cost.
Volunteer recruitment for March Break and Summer Camp 2026 is now underway.
