Special Event Permits

A Township Special Event Permit is required by any person or organization wishing to hold an event on a municipal road or property. Review the list below to determine whether your event requires a permit. 

  • Gatherings
  • Parades and processions
  • Street dances
  • Sidewalk or street sales
  • Races, marathons, walk-a-thons and triathlons
  • Charity events

  • Funerals
  • Wedding processions
  • Motor vehicle rallies
  • Picketing or demonstrations

Guidelines and Additional Requirements

You must submit your completed permit application 120 days in advance to circulate to all departments for comment or approval.

If an event takes place on a Regional property, a Region of Waterloo Special Event Permit is required.
